CairnGorm Mountain are delighted to announce that Oscar winner, Julian Fellowes, will be the celebrity guest speaker at a spectacular mountain top Monarch Country Gala Dinner to be held in the new Ptarmigan Restaurant at CairnGorm Mountain on Friday 14th June.
The Monarch Country Gala Charity Dinner is the centrepiece of a series of events organised by CairnGorm Mountain to celebrate International Year of Mountains. The main beneficiaries of the evening’s activities will be Mountain Rescue and The Variety Club.
Julian Fellowes is well known for his loveable roguish role as “Kilwillie” in the BBC Scotland’s acclaimed flagship drama series - Monarch of the Glen. The stars and production crew are all back in Badenoch & Strathspey for the summer months working on the fourth series.
It was during the filming of an earlier Monarch series, from a B&B in Kingussie that Julian Fellowes wrote the script for the film Gosford Park which was to bring him his recent Oscar success.
CairnGorm Mountain’s Marketing & Communications Director, Tania Adams said: “Filming schedules are always busy and personal time is very precious so we’re particularly grateful to Julian Fellowes for agreeing to be with us for this special evening and to Ecosse Films and the BBC Scotland for giving the event their support and backing. It’s not every day that an Oscar winner graces our table and it’s set to be a very special and glamorous evening.”
Tickets are strictly limited and 80 tickets for the Monarch Country Gala Dinner are now on sale, priced £45 each. Tickets are available individually or can be booked as tables of 8. For further details please contact CairnGorm Mountain. Heather Galbraith tel: 01479 861334.
